June is typically one of the busier months at Disneyland. After a good break from the crowds in most of May from the Spring Break season, the month of June marks the start of the summer season at the park.

Some schools in the area get out as early as May, but most begin their summer breaks sometime in mid to late June. If you’re not a fan of big crowds and long lines, aim for going early in the month, as the later you go, the busier it will be.

The Disneyland Resort anticipates the summer crowds to start arriving right after Memorial Day, with extended park hours on the weekdays following the holiday. The summer promotional season, however, doesn’t officially begin until the first Friday in June. From then on to the end of August, it’s midnight park closings and a full entertainment lineup scheduled (except for Grad Nite days). In other words, it’s going to be busy.

Dates To Avoid

June 3-6 – No annual passes are blocked out on the first weekdays (Monday-Thursday) of the month, so an influx of annual passholders, specifically Southern California Select, is expected on those dates.

Last Week of June – It’s the last admission days before Southern California AP blockout dates kick in for the rest of the summer season.

  1. Went there 2 years ago at the end of June and the crowds were not bad at all.  I think it was like the 25th and the crowds were not bad at all.  Went again in 2011 on the First weekend when all the annual passes were not blocked and it was aweful.  I will definetely take this into consideration next time.  Or try to go in May.
