looks like it might not even rain tomorrow too! the lines are usually pretty short (15-20min) if you get to the park early. it gets more crowded in the evening.

  • CJ

Disneyland is PACKED tonight. Stay away!!

  • JamR

You definitely want to go sooner rather than later. The crowds have been light this week, but it’s only going to get busier closer to Christmas.

  • sandiego84

How packed do you think it will be next friday?

I am trying to go during the week when I can take a day off

    Thanks

  • Robert

It should be pretty crowded since some schools start winter break next week. Try to go early in the day for shorter lines because after 5pm, everyone gets out of work/school and it gets way busier, especially on Friday nights.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jenny.porter.399 Jenny Porter

Ill be there Monday and tuesday (16 and 17th) Not sure whether it will be busy or not? Its early in the week….but its also that time of year…Thoughts?

  • Lee

Some school districts (Anaheim, LA Unified) have next week off so it should be busy, but I don’t think it will get crazy crowded until later in the week on Thursday or Friday when even more schools start their winter break.

  • JennF

We are going next week as well and are expecting it to be crowded since it’s the week before Christmas and a lot of kids will be out, but it’s A LOT better than going on the week OF Christmas. its always been that the closer to Christmas, the busier it is. would have loved to go this week or last if we could. ive always thought that the first 2 weeks of December is the best time to go because all the holiday decorations are up and the crowds aren’t there yet.

  • Liz

Looks like it’s very crowded right now! I though it was supposed to rain today, ugh.

  • Graciemama

We love D-land – we’re thinking of going 12/26 & 12/27 because we think it might not be too crowded – are we crazy to think that?

  • Robert

It’s usually very crowded after Christmas. The holiday season crowds peak on Christmas week.

  • Sam

im not sure how accurate weather forecasts are this many days out, but I was looking at them and it might rain around christmas this year so that may keep the crowds away. But yeah, it’s always packed around that time.

  • Graciemama

Appreciate your input.  Sounds like D-land will be busy on 12/26 & 12/27 after all, unless, as you say Sam, it rains – that might keep some away.  I think we’ll give it a try anyhow.  Thank you both!

  • Samy

Stay away from Disneyland this week folks, it is beyond packed!!

  • Tom45

You guys weren’t kidding, it’s VERY crowded. I don’t think there’s any escape from these crazy holiday crowds until after New Years at this point.

  • GC

Disneyland is crazy busy! With the traffic and parking, you can expect it to take almost an hour just to get inside. Everyone is out of school for winter break, so it should stay crowded into January. Just be prepared and be patient!!

  • Perry

you know it’s going to be PACKED when the parking structure is full. Good advice, be patient everyone. This is the busiest time of the year at Disneyland.

  • Garcia

In my opinion, it just isn’t worth it to go to Disneyland/California Adventure this late in December. It is way too crowded and you’re better off going in January if you can when there’s less crowds and the Christmas decorations are still up.

  • Liz

Disneyland is soo packed right now!! They made us park in the convention center.

  • SaliK

We just got back from the parks and wow!! it is ridiculously crowded. I would say avoid going this week if you can wait until after New Years.

  • Raffi

its busy again today, but not as bad as yesterday! Wonder what it will be like on Christmas Eve.

  • Richard

Yeah, Disneyland was busy on Sunday but not extremely packed. I hope this carries over to Monday since we are going tomorrow too, but I’ve heard that it’s always pretty crowded on Christmas Eve.

  • Sal

I hope the rain tomorrow keeps all the big crowds at home. Should be a good time to go!

  • Franco

Yes! We’re hoping it rains tomorrow too, went on a rainy day last time and there were no lines for anything…

  • DKC

No rain and pretty busy today :(

  • TomPug

We find that if you go early in the morning, you don’t have to deal with too much of the parking madness and crazy-sized crowds. The wait times are shorter too! Later in the day, all the lines get a lot longer and you can’t even walk through Main Street at night it’s so packed.

  • RichardL

Disneyland is crazy CROWDED today! wow!

  • Liz

Stay away from Disneyland today! It is insanely packed! The park might reach capacity today, it’s that crowded.

  • Rusty

there’s a huge line just to get inside Disneyland, can’t imagine what it must be like inside!

  • Gorman

FORGET ABOUT IT! Stay at home, go somewhere else. I’ve never seen Disneyland so crowded in my life. Disney should warn people before they go, you won’t be able to get on many rides today.

  • RD

We saw the line to get in almost reaching California Adventure and decided just to head back. Needless to say, it is beyond crowded today with all the holiday season crowds on winter break and families on vacation.

  • Patricia

ummm, they are handing out papers warning people the parks are BUSY today. it’s always packed after Christmas. Always. if you don’t like the crowds and lines, don’t go to disneyland when everyone is out of school and work.

  • CJLop

Seriously, I used to work at DL and you wouldn’t believe how many guests would ask for a refund on days like these. It’s not like it’s a secret that it’s going to be crowded.

  • Gorman

Trust me, I know it will be busy but there comes a point when you allow too many people inside and its just not fair to those who have had a vacation booked for months. Now they have to deal with the traffic/parking nightmare, wait at the security line, wait at the gates, and stand in lines inside all day. It’s not worth it.

  • West

Disneyland Resort is insanely crowded today. Like, you can’t even walk-crowded – wall-to-wall people.

  • Robert

Disneyland had reached capacity. They are not letting anyone in until after 5pm. Guests are being directed to California Adventure instead.

  • Disl

They are only allowing re-entry right now.

  • Sam

It took us about an hour just to get inside the park before they hit capacity today. As others have said, extremely crowded. We’re hoping that it clears out a bit in the evening. Just gotta be patient when the crowds are this bad…

  • Cdmardan

I hope it clears out after the fireworks

  • Allygg

We saw how crowded it was outside Disneyland and just turned back and went home. I’ll wait until January to let these crowds lighten up.

Wet Blanket Linda here.  I went to Disneyland on Thurs 12-27-12 with family (total of 6 of us, including 1 surprise visiting cousin Alexis from Boston who flew in Christmas Day afternoon… What a WONDERFUL surprise on Christmas day when I got to my sister’s house!  There was our cousin hiding behind the door greeting us!)  but I swear I’ll never ever go again to Disney when it’s a holiday.  Uh-uh.  NEVER.   (yeah, I admit, I’m a Scrooge when it comes to these “fun” traditional holiday 1000′s and 1000′s of people doing the same thing, enjoying the beautiful HOLIDAY decorated Disneyland park).

at least for me, it’s definitely NOT the “Happiest Place on Earth” when it’s PACKED LIKE SARDINES!
After waiting on line after line (tram, security, ticket purchase… after the long drive to Anaheim) we finally got in to the Park at 10A.

I was trying to google to get the “attendence stats” for Disneyland on 12-27-12, but couldn’t find anything official, but I see from the comments at the link below, there were MANY OTHERS who also attended 12-27-12 and said it was PACKED.  (yup, it was, and for me and I believe my son will agree, it was NOT fun).

So to continue our adventure, once we got there, and the nieces went to Disney’s City Hall to get us each a “Celebrating” button, nieces went straight away to “Indiana Jones” to get the 6 of us a FAST PASS.  Hooray!  I’ll finally see what it’s like to bypass lines and use my 1st ever “Fast Pass!”  (I thought).   We went to wait on line for the Ladies Room, then to the Tiki Room waiting courtyard for our 1st Disney venue.  Saw the singing birds, flowers and Tiki’s then where to go next?  In to the swelling crowds, that’s where.  Well, I’m just bummed out that I never had the opportunity to even use my first ever “Fast Pass”  :-( as I was way too pooped out and stressed and finally left before the Fast Pass for Indiana Jones for our group of 6 obtained at 10am for our time slot of  “655p-755p” so in-between, we waited on lines for Pirates and Haunted House and luckily Tiki Room, and then tried to find somewhere to eat… somewhere that maybe you could SIT DOWN, finally found something but darned Murphy’s Law, the sandwich place was out of roast beef, so I had a turkey salad and Michael had a delicious “strawberry shortcake parfait”   Nearly impossible on a HOLIDAY period at Disneyland to find somewhere that you weren’t getting shoved or stomped on … and don’t even get me started with those humongous “baby strollers” that parents today drag around and some parents use to ram thru crowds or take up precious space on packed trams or packed walkways where HUMANS are trying to manuever, and now have to share the limited “real estate” with mini-Hummer-shopping-cart sized strollers, that have cup holders, huge baskets underneath the size of my Honda’s trunk, heavy duty bumpers, and 10″ tires.  (Hey, what happened to the simple “UMBRELLA STROLLERS” that we parents used 20yrs ago, lightweight and sleek and compact with rinky dinky 4″ wheels and that would “tip-over” if you slung your minimally packed diaperbag w/ a bottle and wipes, and a few lite-weight shopping bags on the “umbrella curved tubular handles” of an empty stroller when the toddler decided to walk instead of ride?  Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but I’ll admit I would have LOVED having a “cup holder” on my son’s stroller 22yrs ago)

My 22yr old son say that despite the name, Happiest Place on Earth, all his memories of Disney (or theme parks) quite the opposite as each got on the nerves of others in the group, trying to see as much as possible and everyone getting stressed, mad and NOT “happy”  … told him that one day when he’s a “dad” with young kid(s) he’ll have to put a “happy face” on for his kids when visiting Disney just like parents do … and he said “Nah, I’ll take the kid to “Knotts”  “   (aka Knotts Berry Farm, which we all know is NOT so jammed & popular as Disney).

Anyway, as we (or rather I contemplated cutting my time with our family outing to Disney and leaving “early,” as I was tired and Fri was a work day and I was not relishing the long drive back home with the other “masses of park visitors”), we had time to kill, and use our Fast-Pass for Indy at 655p, went to Main Street at apx 4:15p for the 5:30p parade.  Alas, at that time “curb” space was jam packed already and we found no were to sit down for the 530p Parade, so my son Michael and I got some ice cream at Dreyers, and then wandered around till we were asked to move from & keep the pathway clear in front of a building, so off we went and near the “Lockers” alleyway we found 2 chairs at someone’s table and sat down with a fellow stranger visiting to the “Happiest Place on Earth” who was busy on his iPhone.  We saw the tops of the passing floats over the heads of all the standing parade watchers, but grateful we had somewhere to sit.    Since I was going to work on Fri, no way I could stay for what another park visitor said was a fabulous “Fantasia” evening Parade & Fireworks late at night.

Left the part at 615p and dropped off my niece Christine J. at home by 830p and got home shortly after that.   Don’t know how long my sister Armine, niece Dena and cousin Alexis S  stayed, but they all looked like they WERE having a fabulous time last time I saw them before the Parade (and after Alexis had a few “words” with the little kids behind her who were screaming and stomping on her fingers while they were sitting curbside for 1hr waiting for the 530p parade to begin).

PS, seems that friend Marcy said that our friend Katie M says the BEST DAY to go (shhhhh, don’t tell anyone!) is Super Bowl Sunday.
Hmmm, maybe I’ll try to do that some year in the future..

  • Rosie

seeing a lot of traffic outside the parks today, should be very busy day again!

  • Sd

I wouldn’t be surprised if Disneyland hits full capacity again today, sooo packed.

  • Jon

Disneyland is BEYOND packed right now! Just a sea of people…

  • Felix

The lines at Disneyland and DCA are absolutely ridiculous today. Stay from the parks, it’s awful! :(

  • JJ

The wait times are insane: 90min to 2 hours for Space Mountain, Star Tours, Indiana Jones. Radiator Springs Racers was 3hrs!!

  • Liz

I’m thinking the rain today will keep the big holiday crowds away. We shall see!

  • Donald

disneyland has been so crowded these last few days, it might still be busy even with the rain. i hope you’re right though.

  • Robert

Capacity days only happen a few times a year, so it was just a really bad day to go. I love going in early December when all the Christmas decorations are up, but it’s not that crowded yet.

  • Mandy

    Radiator springs closed again.
