Honestly, my husband and I have been coming since we were kids in ’07. It used to be an all day thing, lines used to be 1-2 hours long, hot, and crowded. After moving back to Texas in the area we decided to invest in annual passes- already having surpassed the price of one day passes with the amount of times we’ve gone. We go Friday nights right about as they open. High school football season = Everyone is at a football game and not at Six Flags. And since it’s almost Halloween time there’s not many tourists. I know moat people are visiting once and done but I recommend going around Fright Fest time on a Friday night. Want tomes are no more than 30 minutes.
Also, Six Flags took a hit during COVID, staffing is down, a lot of things are down, but slowly starting to open back up.

Went with a party of 5 May 16 – 2022 including my daughter and son in law visiting from the UK. We should have looked at the reviews before we went. Visitors have been saying the same for months and they are all true – Avoid, do not go, waste of money, profiteering at the expense of hard working people. Six flags responding to reviews with stock answers and doing absolutely nothing to address the issues. Whoever is running this place has no concept of customer service. Here’s a rundown of our experience from start to finish: Car parking very smooth and easy. Access to the park smooth and easy. No notices or warning you can’t buy all day drink and food passes at the park. Went to a food stand and told they need to be purchased on line. No issue with this so went on line and purchased 4 passes at $160. Asked the guy at the food counter to redeem and it came up with an issue so sent to customer relations back out through the ticket gate. Waited 45 minutes in line only to be told ‘oh yes we’ve been having the same issue all morning’. By the time we got the paper passes and got back into the park 90 minutes lost. Most of the rides closed as they clearly haven’t enough staff. Despite not enough staff to run the park and open the rides they keep filling up the park rather than restricting numbers to enable visitors to have a good experience. I would have been happy to have been turned away on this basis. Because not enough staff to open all the rides, floodgates letting visitors in minimum wait time to get on a ride 90 minutes. Most of the staff seemed disengaged. Food lines 90 minutes plus. My wife and I ate in the bbq place, 1 person serving, 45 minutes in line, no napkins, no forks to eat my food (baked potato eaten with a spoon ! ) and no sauces available. Drinks stations no open, due to food lines so long waited 5 hours to get a refill. Refilled next to Johnny rockets and all the drinks tasted funny (like soil), like the lines hadn’t been cleaned in a while so probably harboring bacteria. My 2 daughters and son in law waited in line for a burger for 90 minutes and eventually dropped out as people were jumping the line and nothing done to stop it despite complaining and their being notices up to report it. My wife and I went in 1 ride all day as the lines so long. My daughter and son in law who were over visiting from the UK who were so excited to go managed 3 rides all day. Felt the need to constantly apologize to them and feel very awkward, and very embarrassed for Six Flags. Didn’t manage to spend the $160 worth of food and drinks passes. Tickets would have been well priced if we were actually able to get on the rides. It’s a real shame as the park is beautiful but walking round in 100+ and not even being able to get drinks refills in under 90 minutes an absolute joke. My daughter from the UK left the park feeling I’ll with dehydration and nearly passed out. If it I could leave 0 stars I would and will never return to this park even though I live in San Antonio. Six Flags I’m embarrassed for you, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Employ some who can actually run and manage the park properly. In the meantime at lest restrict the number of visitor so those in the park can have a good experience. Close the stalls and stores where you are clearly charging and making additional profit and use those staff to run the rides and food stalls for which hard working people have paid their entry fee for. Be warned folks, stay away until Six Flags have got their act together. And Six Flags – DO NOT bother writing a response to my review as you are clearly unprepared to actually address the concerns of your visitors !!
