I think for next weekend (not this one coming up) it will def. pick up as Indiana Jones reopens. During the week idk. I planned to go because of usually low crowds, but I know of at least one other family from my small town that will be there the same time as us (not on purpose). Makes me think it will be busier than expected…
I will be there on May 21 and 22…..I know the 21st is Grad Night, how does that affect crowds? Is it going to be super crowded those days? Thanks.
I think it’ll be a little busier on the Grad Nite day, especially in the evening when more seniors arrive. I would definitely get there early for more manageable crowds and waits.
Wow…So, I’m seeing a lot of complaints that a lot of main rides were closed. I check the maintenance schedule a month ago, and for the week that we’re going (May 13-15), we already have It’s a Small World, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Nemo, and Grizzly Run. Am I missing any more? Am I going to get a sour surprise when we get there? Any info would be great. Thanks!
Alice in Wonderland and Gadget’s Go Coaster will be closed for refurbishment too. Space Mountain isn’t scheduled to be closed though.
If Passholders are “blocked” it’s in your favor (as long as you’re not an annual pass holder). That means that pass holders with non-premium passes can’t go that day; it’s a blackout day for them. Grad nite can get bad, but mainly at night (go figure 😉 ). Overall, though, the days when pass holders are blocked are usually significantly lighter. We have premium passes so we don’t have blackout days, but we have noticed much lighter crowds when we go on days when other pass holders are blocked. Best advice: get there before the park opens for your best bet. Use fast passes, and if you’re park hopping, be smart about it and do fast passes in both parks–works to your advantage.
Katie, check to see if there is an event at the convention center. Sometimes that books hotels up and doesn’t necessarily reflect crowds at the parks.
