July is one of the busiest months at Disneyland. The summer season, which starts in June, is well underway by July 1st. So, along with the hotter weather, expect lines and crowds throughout the month.

Most schools in the area begin their summer breaks sometime in mid to late June, while some start summer vacation as early as May. That means there usually isn’t any relief from the big crowds in July, even on the weekdays.

The Disneyland Resort anticipates heavy summer crowds for all of July, with extended park hours for the entire month. Remember that from Memorial Day Weekend and into the end of August, it’s midnight park closings and a full entertainment lineup scheduled. In other words, be prepared. It’s going to be busy.

Dates To Avoid

4th of July Weekend – Year after year, Disneyland ranks among the top travel destinations for the 4th of July Weekend getaway. The park is typically packed throughout the weekend.

4th of July – Disneyland is usually busy on the 4th, but if you do plan on going on the holiday, try to get there as early as possible. The crowds tend to pick up in the afternoon and evening hours for the fireworks.
