Let me tell how to get the most accurate idea of the crowds pre-hand.
Look at the hotel prices in that area. When its packed, the prices are high. This is the only way to even be remotely close to what the crowds will be during your visit.

And is not accurate at all! It’s packed here and we just waited in line for space mountain 45 minutes and then they closed it.

Find somewhere else to go, Disneyland is very packed and is in no way the Happiest Place on Earth. They have implemented new security procedures which makes getting into the park much more difficult. The line to just get our bags checked took us close to 1 hour and then we had to wait in another long line to just get in. Waited in line for Hyper Space for 2 hours only to have it break down. Then left and got in line for Star Tours, in line 40 mins and then that one broke down. We were in the park 5 hours and never got onto anything!!!! I am glad Walt Disney is no longer here to see how bad its gotten, seems they care more about raising prices then finding a way to improve the experience for their guests. 🙁

People here’s the sad news, there is no such thing as a dead day at Disneyland anymore. Not even on a weekday, be a regular Sunday or even Super Bowl Sunday. No matter what day it’s going to be bumper to bumper. And with the new additions of Star Wars from now for the next few years it’s only going to get worse. There’s two things you can really do at this point, you either wake up early and be there at 7:00, yes I know early, but seriously the extra hour and a half helps, or you get a hotel room and take advantage of their extra magic benefits. Otherwise, good luck waiting 2 hours for hyper space mountain!

Just left Disneyland (11/4/15). We went expecting a “ghost town” but there were a lot of people there. Not as bad as It could’ve been, but busy – 40 minute waits for several rides.
