August is typically yet another busy month at Disneyland. As in June and July, it’s officially still the summer season at the park. So, along with the warm weather, long lines and crowds should be expected.
Keep in mind that most schools in the area are still out for summer break for most of the month. Some will get back in session in late August, while others wait until after Labor Day in September.
The Disneyland Resort anticipates summer crowds throughout August, with a slight dip in attendance expected on the last week (before Labor Day weekend). With the exception of those last weekdays in August, it’s extended park hours and a full entertainment lineup scheduled for the entire month, so be prepared.
Dates To Avoid
Fridays – Friday is usually one of the busier days of the week, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. Arrive as early as you can.
Weekends – Saturdays and Sundays are usually crowded as well, although there’s little relief from the crowds even on weekdays during the summer.
If you must go in August, aim for late in the month. Otherwise, wait until after Labor Day, as the summer season crowds will be gone by then.
