Light crowds and short lines at Disneyland may seem more like something out of Fantasyland these days, but if you’re visiting the Happiest Place on Earth in the month February, you just might be in luck.

Like January, February is a relatively quiet month at the Disneyland Resort. The hectic holiday season (the busiest time of the year) is long over and the Spring Break season hasn’t started yet, making way for a less crowded experience at the parks many days out of the month. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in February.

Mondays in February (except for Presidents Day) also tend to be manageable. Most Fridays aren’t too crowded either during the day, but crowds usually pick up in the afternoon/evening.

If you must go on the week of Presidents Day, check the Crowd Calendar for the best dates to go.

Crowds/Attendance in February

With an average of 10 “Ghost Town” days on the Disneyland Crowd Forecast Calendar, the month of February is one of the least crowded months at Disneyland every year. After the holiday season ends at the beginning of the year, the “off-season” begins and extends into much of February. So, just like in January, attendance is historically low on many weekdays during the month.

There are, however, some days that are better than others — and some days that you should probably avoid altogether — when visiting Disneyland in February. Before you book that trip, here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Avoid Presidents Day week

Unfortunately, not all weekdays in February are empty. The week of Presidents Day tends to be busier at Disneyland since some schools have mid-winter break that week. Granted, crowds usually aren’t too crazy since not all school districts have this week off, but expect attendance to be higher and the lines to be a little longer on the weekdays after the Presidents Day holiday.

2. Super Bowl Sunday is crowded!

Contrary to popular belief, Disneyland is not empty on Super Bowl Sunday. In fact, the parks are historically more crowded on that day. Sure, it might seem like a good idea, but we recommend avoiding this Sunday if you can.

Lines/Wait Times in February

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (except during Presidents Day week), around 15-20min waits is the norm. Mondays and Fridays tends to be little longer (30min on average). On weekends, expect 30-40min waits.

For the week of Presidents Day, 30-60min waits is the norm. On Super Bowl Sunday, be prepared for around 40-60min waits.

Keep in mind that the lines are just about always shorter earlier in the day, so try to arrive in the morning (or at park opening if you can) to take advantage of the shorter waits.

Weather in February

Rainy weather in February is not uncommon at Dineyland. MicahManaloTV

February is the wettest month on average in Anaheim, so a few rainy days here and there is to be expected. The good news, though, is that Disneyland tends to be much less crowded whenever there’s wet weather.

The month of February in Southern California also tends to be on the cool side, with temperatures in the 60°s to low 70°s on average.

Best & Worst Days to Go to Disneyland:
JANUARY | FEBRUARY | MARCH | APRIL | MAY | JUNE | JULY | AUGUST | SEPTEMBER | OCTOBER | NOVEMBER | DECEMBER

  1. February is our favorite time of the year to go to Disneyland. We go on the first week of the month and it’s almost never crowded!

  2. We went on a Tuesday in February and it was almost empty. It’s the best time to go.

  3. What about the day before the Super Bowl?

  4. It’s expected to be fairly crowded this year (over 30min waits). It’s usually more manageable than Sunday though.

  5. would it be better to go on sunday february 24 or monday feburary 25? I know mondays might be less crowded but i also am concerned that mondays close at 9 pm and sundays at 11pm..

  6. I think Monday would still be better even if the hours are shorter. Weekends have been pretty crowded lately, so you should be able to get more done on Monday.

  7. Would Mardi gras 2020 be busy? Falls on the last week of February!

  8. I don’t think so. It should be pretty empty that week.

  9. How do you see the Rise of the Resistance affecting the normal Feb calendar?

  10. I don’t think the whole park will be too crazy since it’s opening during the off-season. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will probably be a lot more crowded than it is now, but I’m thinking the rest of the park should be pretty manageable.
